Spend 90 minutes inside Dresden Zwinger’s Baroque Wallpavillon, hearing the 5 to 7 musicians of the Dresdner Residenz Orchester. Choose from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Mozart, opera favorites, romantic music, or waltzes. Seating begins in the fourth row, with a drinks bar and coat check on site.

Spend 70 minutes with the Berlin Orchestra, soprano Duangamorn Fu, organist Vladimir Magalashvili, and a violin soloist at Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The program may include Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Bach’s Toccata and Fugue, Schubert’s Ave Maria, Mozart’s Lacrimosa, and Beethoven’s Fifth.

Spend about three hours at Tipi am Kanzleramt for Cabaret, following Sally Bowles through 1930s Berlin. Expect German dialogue, some English songs, live music, table seating, a €5 food and drink voucher, and views near the Reichstag and Chancellery.

Spend one hour hearing the Residenz Soloists and Munich Philharmonics perform Bach, Vivaldi, Händel, Haydn, or Mozart in Munich’s old court chapel. The palace setting is magnificent, but the chapel can be cold and the entrance is easy to miss. Concerts run Saturdays at 6:30 PM year-round.

Follow the Beatles’ early Hamburg footsteps from U Feldstraße through St Pauli, the Reeperbahn, Große Freiheit, and Beatles-Platz. A German-speaking musician-guide such as Henning or Thomas shares local stories, sings live, and finishes with more music in a pub. Allow 150 minutes and wear comfortable shoes.

Spend an evening in Munich’s historic Residenz Court Chapel, where Mozart once performed. Residence Soloists present changing programs for Advent, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Good Friday, with music for combinations such as flute and harp or string quartet. Allow about 75 minutes and dress warmly.

Spend two hours at a classical concert in Munich’s Cuvilliés Theatre, a Rococo showpiece where Mozart’s Idomeneo premiered. Hear Residenz soloists perform works by Mozart, Vivaldi, Brahms, Dvorak, Rossini, Mendelssohn, and Johann Strauss. The concert includes an intermission and is wheelchair accessible.

Spend two hours, including an intermission, hearing the Residence-Soloists perform Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Gershwin in Munich’s Max-Joseph Hall. The small, ornate room offers assigned seating, lively acoustics, and a direct view of the performers.

Head to Berlin’s Estrel Showtheater for All You Need Is Love, a Beatles musical performed by the Twist & Shout band. Expect a staged story of the group’s rise to fame, familiar songs such as Help!, Yesterday, and Hey Jude, plus singing, dancing, and Beatles-style looks.
Join Amelia, performing as Margarete von Schwangau, for a 1-hour-45-minute walk through Rothenburg. Hear Minnesang, medieval chant, and Renaissance songs at the Town Hall, Plönlein, Holy Ghost Church, and Spital Bastion while learning the city’s stories.
“A classically trained singer did a lot of research about the medieval town of Rothenburg. She actually lives in the town & knows all the nooks & crannies & the stories that go w/ them. We hit all the 700 yr old highlights w/ a song to go w/ each.”
Attend a 90-minute classical concert in the Bode Museum’s Gobelin Hall, with programs ranging from Baroque recorder and organ music to Mozart opera, Beethoven, Haydn, and Romantic songs. Performers include the Mozart Ensemble Berlin, Marianne Boettcher, and Beatrice Wehner-Schaller. Museum admission is included.

Meet Florian or another local guide at Überseequartier for a two-hour walk through HafenCity, Speicherstadt, Sandtorhafen, and around the Elbphilharmonie. Expect city history, modern architecture, maritime details, and a small group of no more than 15 people. Entry fees are not included.
