Good concerts sell out weeks ahead and the great ones go first. Below: the 15 to book early, what each includes and how they differ.

Spend one hour with the Barcelona Gala Orchestra inside Barcelona’s Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy, a baroque church near La Rambla. At The Velvet Room, you’ll hear a 20:30 jam session led by musicians on double bass, drums, guitar, vocals, and harmonica. A different guest artist joins each week. Your $23 ticket includes one cava, wine, beer, or soft drink, plus access to an intimate evening of live jazz, cocktails, and tapas.

At 8:30 pm, step into Barcelona’s Basilica de la Mercè for a one-hour concert by the Barcelona Gala Orchestra, a violin soloist and soprano. Hear selections including Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s Air on the G String, Beethoven’s Fifth and Ravel’s Boléro.

Spend 150 minutes with pianist and composer Luis de Arquer at El Teatre més Petit del Món in Gràcia. Expect solo piano works by Beethoven and Chopin, original compositions and improvisations, then cava in a candlelit 19th-century garden. The setting is intimate, historic, and decidedly personal.

Spend three and a half hours at La Paloma on Carrer del Tigre, Barcelona’s 1903 music hall, dancing to the 8-piece Tigres de Raval. Expect salsa, mambo, timba, jazz, rock and roll, comfortable seating, original decoration, and admission for about $14.54.
